Attention to detail
Yesterday I dropped in the Edmund Pearce gallery and was instantly smitten with Robert Ashton’s “Postmortem” prints. His images are the case – where one needs to see the prints, as a jpg only tells half the story. The prints are rich in microscopic detail and the colors so subtle. Your eye keeps wandering and exploring the smallest detail, one does not want to miss anything. I also like it, when prints are not instantly visible as photographs, but one can imagine them drawn, sketched or lithographed. It is not often that I admire death and beauty at the same time, but I could have studied them for hours. Make sure to drop in and also explore the fabulous work of Nicole Robson and Bridget Mac.
